i'm not tossed into the abyss that is post-graduation.

currently: looking for a part time job....

trying to get a job with a nonprofit organization called "Think Together" which is basically an after school tutoring program in santa ana and tustin...

And/or

trying to get a job as an SAT math tutor for Ivy West, Kaplan, Princeton, etc...let's see how this search goes...

right now i'm just workin on the resume and cover letters for all of these, hopefully I can have them done by tonight...

i just read a xanga post from my friend, Jenn's, xanga website. It made me reflect on a recent post I made (the one about climbing and not being able to see the bottom anymore). I just realized that I am climbing a mountain that has no top. Does it keep going? What are the benefits of continuing? I think that although there will always be more to do, and more to do, and more to do, there are little plateaus and rest stops along the way that signify minor accomplishments here and there. But in the end, what is the definition of accomplishment? According to dictionary.com: "Something completed successfully; an achievement." Personally, I don't think I'll ever be completely satisfied with what I have done in my life. Don't get me wrong, let me explain. I will not be dissatisfied with my achievements. Those are the fruits of life. It feels great to know that I worked hard and reached a goal in life. But I just don't feel like I would ever want to stop achieving new goals. Once you become idle, what's the point in living? Whether your goal be to spend more time with family, take your wife on her dream vacation, get that dream job, enroll in an art class, write a song, climb a mountain, run a marathon, grow your hair out, read a book, write a book, tell that one person that you're sorry and you love them, etc etc etc...it can be material or not. Goals are what keep me motivated.

yo, kathy had this ill post in her blog section of her myspace...then Ramon responded to it....those two are amazing poets and they inspired to me write something as well...I posted on Kathy's page as well, but figured i might as well put it here too..here it is

The Humanity

flushed with plasma swiftly swerving through high pressure arteries and veins. a part of me's insane with the way i attempt to control the inevitably uncontrollable animal desire to rage and feast on that which produces life. within the body of nature, i secure my own territory, clutching it tight within my grips. All the while hypocritically squirming and freeing myself as to not remain as adhered to that which I have fastened myself. My sample lays over the bassline. Listen. Enjoy. Love. Life. Mine. Hers. This is the one. But the flesh of my loins tears through the skin hungry, barking, prowling. Inner ear ossicles reverberate to differently rareified and compressed air. As that which I fought for so vehemently struggles to release from my grip vigorously and pump out of the stereo at infinity decibels, causing my inners to begin to stir like milk being whipped into butter....i realize my neglect....i calm my animal desire....i'm in love....but

man...it's hella weird being on campus, seeing staffers, and not being part of the action. not that i'm all sad that i didn't try out for staff again, because honestly, even though i think i could've handled one more year pretty well, in my heart i really felt like it would've been for more selfish motives than anything else. Selfish in the sense that I love the feeling of staffing a weekend spop. The feeling at the end of the weekend is unlike anything else I've ever experienced. But I'm hella happy for the new staff. I heard everything's going great and I am really glad that it's headed in the right direction. Wussup to all of my green year, brown year, and maroon year staffers. Wuttup to all of gray year too. Now that I'm at it, wussup to blue year and orange year as well. Other than that. PEACE!!

On a sidenote: it was hella crazy seeing giant bulldozers knock down the ASUCI/DOS building!! That building is just rubble on the student center terrace lawn now. I just happened to be driving by as it was happening and felt like it was symbolic of the end of my college career. So much of the past 5 years have involved activities in that building, and now that I'm done, it's done too hahahaha...this is by no way a sad entry, just random thoughts coming from a delirious studying man.

What happened in London this morning is a complete disgrace to mankind. Kind of like what we're doing to the innocent citizens of Iraq, but in a different media light. It's not that I don't believe in war. If there ever comes a time where I have been invaded any my family and friends are in danger, I would be the first one to defend them. I just don't believe in being the aggressor when it comes to world wars. My heart and condolences go out to every citizen of London and England. It's a shame that they must feel the pain that we felt on 9/11, that Madrid felt during the subway bombing, and that Iraqi citizens feel everyday. I think it's kind of funny that when we were kids in the playground, the yard duties always taught us to resolve issues by talking to each other, or using a mediator. Fighting was never the answer. Then our president who, in my opinion, should be the ultimate role model for all US Citizens, completely turns that mentality around. Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight. It's very clear to me now that fighting really isn't the answer. Look where it's gotten us. Zero weapons of mass destruction. Thousands of deaths. A massive budget defecit. And a country divided. <---if that doesn't seem like regression to you, you have major problems. Back to what happened in London today. I still remember the exact feeling I had on 9/11. It was during our first week of training for student staff in Mesa Court and the other SP's and Darlene (our RA) came to wake me up and tell me to watch the news with them. They said that training had been cancelled that day. Watching the news and seeing the footage of the planes hit the twin towers was surreal. All of us were overwhelmed with tons of emotions. None of us even knew anyone in the twin towers but to see so many innocent people get injured and killed for no reason was just disheartening. Today, about 3.5 years later, I flipped on the news and watched the footage from London. My emotions: nothing. I realized how numb I've become to this madness. Just 3.5 years ago, I couldn't even talk when I heard of the news. Today, I just kept on going about my business like any regular day. Not because it's not on my own soil. But there has just been so much killing and war and blood spillage over the past few years that people are getting (for lack of a better word) used to it. People speak of how God will come down and wipe out Earth. Choosing people to go to heaven and this and that. I think that if Earth will ever get wiped out by anything (besides a comet or meteor), it will be by the hands of mankind. Greed, money, and the pursuit of power can have devastating effects. I've experienced those effects today through my semi-apathy. Once again, my heart and deepest condolences go out to everyone who was affected by the London bombings today. Hopefully, the nations at war can realize the deterioration it is causing and try to come up with a more peaceful answer.
